TMC’s Director of Clinical Excellence, Kevin Cezat, explains what impact the Fair Housing Act is having on continuing care retirement communities. “A clear theme,” Kevin writes, “is that all policies must be based on valid safety concerns and must not meaningfully restrict access.”
This legislation will impact many different facets of the community, so it’s important to be aware of these regulations to avoid lawsuits. Cezat goes on to provide some basic dos and don’ts specific to policies affecting electric scooter/wheelchair users.
